Perhaps with the Roman ruins, more splendid than in Orange - according to its citizens.

Or perhaps with all the fine vignobles as close as 5/6 km from downtown Nimes.
There are now the famous Costieres de Nimes and Aigues-Mortes,
along with the well known wines, Listel.

Yet close to the Mediterranean with its own special pleasures.

The Mediterranean, including La Grande Motte and Grau du Roi.

Grau du Roi. by the way, isnot only famous for its large beaches,
but as an important fisherman port center, selling catch of the day all over France and beyond.

Further, the right band of Grau du Roi is Port Camargue,
the largest marina in France for plearure boats. It has kept growing, decade after decade,
until now it is exceeding La Grande Motte.

Nimes is also only a little over an hour's drive the beautiful scenery in the
National Park du Mont Lozere. There one finds lots of"mas du midi" - country houses.

There are also old mines around Arles and wildlife in the mountains, Les Cevennes.

This is barely a beginning. Even those who live there always have more to discover.
