Provence
- so much to see and do. But where to start?
We
have selected a few websites that will help you get a more in-depth
feeling of Provence and acquire a taste for Provence beforehand. We
hope these pages give you a few ideas of things to do and visit while
relaxing in Provence.
The first page is on the weather, and also
shopping for food the day you arrive. Shops
are listed for Carpentras, Mazan, and for on the way to Carpentras from
Avignon.
Then we go on to touring and attractions
in Provence, a land with so many places to see and explore.
Next
are restaurants. We have a few favorites,
and guests have given us some of theirs. Plus there are references for
more restaurants.
Finally
we have a section on references and useful
links, including:
* emergency numbers
* wine cellars and wine tours, vineyards
* maps and driving directions from everywhere in France
* TGV (train)
* bus schedules
* bike rentals
* sports and leisure
* activities for children
* Van Gogh, Cezanne, etc.
* golf
* horseback riding
* books on Provence
Plus,
Philippe is from Provence and has started writing about his experience
of Provence:
* My
Provence - Tamed and Wild
*
My Provence
- Mistral Wind of Wrath
We hope this will give you a few ideas of things to do and visit - and
also an idea of what Provence can be like - while relaxing in Provence.

And
who are we and how did we get started with La Peyriere,
Stone Villa with Pool in the Heart of Provence?
It's
part of an adventure neither of us ever imagined.
Philippe worked in senior management, Elsa as a professor.
And then we decided to take on La Peyriere.
We are planning to write much on this - but for now just to say
we have met great guests and intend to stay with La Peyriere
for a long time.
For
more of Philippe's experience of Provence,
you can turn to his articles,
included when you request the links to
information on Provence.
In
the heart of Provence,
you can never be sad
you can never be mad
or so it says in the ads
from
a song by Elsa
Of
course the reality is much more complex.
May your journey in Provence be wonderful.

Telephone

local calls and emergency calls. The phone receives all calls. Long
distance (international) access with calling card.
Excellent
soundproofing. This has been a major concern in
our renovations of La Peyriere, Provence villa with pool. The
walls are very well soundproofed throughout. The soundproofing
was extra important in the bedroom which can be part of either
La Pichounette (making it La Pichoune) or La Grande Peyrière
(making it La Très Grande Peyriere). To ensure the best
possible level of soundproofing, this room has a small entry passage
from La Grande Peyrière and another from La Pichounette.
In other words, to enter the room, one has to pass through 2 doors.
This provides an additional sound buffer from both sides.

What does it mean, to feel at home?
Part of Elsa's Creativity Emporium.
For
those of you wondering, why so many repetitions,
is that the way you talk, the answer is no.
It has to do with search engines -
they like the main topic words
to be given over and over, in a certain ratio
(as in a recipe, add one egg for every two cups of flour).
I do like - and write - all kinds of poetry,
so this is one way I've had some fun
while also doing my best to satisfy the web spiders.
